How to style a block print bed: sheets, dohars and cushions

A block print bedsheet does most of the work in a bedroom. The trick is to give it one calm companion, not three busy ones.
Pick one star
Let the bedsheet be the pattern. Choose a plain or very quiet dohar or quilt in one of the print's own colours, and fold it across the foot of the bed.
Take cushion colours from the print
- An indigo print with a powder blue or white dohar.
- A red floral with soft peach or cream.
- A pink print with a sage green throw.
Mixing two prints
If you want two prints, keep one large and one small, and let them share a colour. A big floral sheet with small buti pillow covers works; two big florals usually fight.
Light and the rest of the room
Printed cotton looks its best in daylight. Keep the walls and curtains simple so the bed stays the focus.
